For a company operating in Brazil, the comparison should include support language and hours, data protection, and the connection between approvals and the asset library. Wikimee combines approvals and assets, with support in Portuguese.

When evaluating Bynder or another platform, look beyond the features shown in the demo. If a campaign stalls at 6pm on a Friday, the team needs to know who can help, in which language and during which support hours.

What to assess for an operation in Brazil#

Include these criteria in the comparison, even if the list you are using does not cover them:

1. Support and implementation in Portuguese, with hours that fit the team’s schedule.
2. Data processing and protection arrangements under the LGPD, Brazil’s data protection law.
3. Approvals and distribution connected to the asset library.

Canto’s 2026 research found significant improvements in content ROI among 56% of teams that connect digital assets and product information, compared with 13% of other teams, roughly 4 times as many. 3. Smartsheet#

Lets teams organize processes through grids and workflows. To assess asset management, include Brandfolder, Smartsheet’s DAM solution, which can integrate with the work. Evaluate the combination of products and its cost.

4. Adobe Workfront#

Manages work within the Adobe ecosystem and integrates with Adobe Experience Manager Assets for digital asset management. Confirm which products and licenses make up the proposed solution.

5. Wikimee#

Brings requests, production, approvals and assets together in a platform that supports integrations. Approved creative work becomes available for distribution, with a frozen version and a record of who approved it. Support is in Portuguese.

In my view, converting the price to reais is insufficient when evaluating a DAM for Brazil. Support language, data processing arrangements and the needs of networks with autonomous units belong in the comparison.

How to calculate total cost with exchange rates#

Check what the proposal includes beyond the license. For contracts in dollars or euros, exchange rate changes can affect the cost in reais between January and December. If approvals and portals require other products, add the subscriptions and integration hours. Also account for the time your team will spend coordinating support if it operates in another language or time zone.

A 7-item evaluation checklist#

1. Approvals with a record of decisions within the environment.
2. A frozen approved version.
3. Portals per client or unit.
4. Permissions by role and brand.
5. Support and contract in Brazil.
6. Documented, verifiable LGPD compliance measures.
7. Full export when the contract ends.

For the last item, ask the vendor to demonstrate the export and explain what you will receive. Exit terms help you assess the work involved if the company needs to switch platforms.

Questions to ask during the demo#

Use one of your team’s campaigns to check how the platform works. These five questions can guide the demo:

1. “Can you run this workflow with one of my campaigns, right now?”
2. “Show me the trail of who approved this piece.”
3. “What does my client see, and what do they never see?”
4. “How much does year two cost, in local currency?”
5. “How do I export everything if I leave?”

The campaign lets you test a workflow the team knows. The approval history shows how decisions are recorded, while the client’s view lets you check access boundaries between accounts. For year two, request the cost including price adjustments and exchange rate assumptions. For the export, check whether you can retrieve and use the library outside the platform.

Record the answers and ask for confirmation of the terms that will go into the contract. Anything the vendor cannot demonstrate should remain an open point in the evaluation.
